Overview

The Chronological Life of Christ is the definitive resource where all four Gospels have been harmonized into one chronological story line. The reader gets an in-depth look at Jesus' life, ministry, death and resurrection - a look not attainable when reading each Gospel separately. Written using the Thomas & Gundry NIV Harmony of the Gospels as a frame, The Chronological Life of Christ includes a very helpful subject index and user-friendly table for quickly finding Bible passages. This is a must-have resource for every student and teacher of God's Word.

Excerpts

"...not much has changed since Jesus gathered dust in the soles of his sandals on Palestinian soil. He is still the buzz at barber shops and corner cafes. He is still talked about and against. He pricks our curiosity, sparks our imagination, and even earns our ire.

Who is he, really? You know he's no politician, but he still transforms nations. He's no social activist, but he is the genesis of who knows how many hospitals, orphanages, and innumerable acts of kindness. A psychotherapist? Hardly. But how many of us 'Humpty Dumpties' has he put back together again?! This peasant carpenter has built himself a kingdom immeasurably greater than his early enemies could have imagined.

What are we to make of him? Please accept my deepest apologies right up front, for this book will not help answer the questions. However, it may help answer this one: What is this man to make me?"
- From Mark Moore's Introduction

The Gospels, as we have them, present the historical Jesus. We don’t have to play hide-and-go-seek with the sources. We don’t have to psychoanalyze a hypothetical church or reconstruct a fictitious source. We don’t even have to unlock some secret code or wait for archaeologists to translate a newly found gnostic manuscript. The Gospels you hold in your hand, miracles and all, tell the truth about Jesus. Who is he, really? He is the Messiah of Israel and Lord of the Church who died for our sins and rose for our justification. Now that’s worth writing about!” (p. 11)

Reader Testimonials

"Dear Dr. Moore, on Mondays I’m in the habit of reading the essay, watching the video, and then looking up the scripture in the Chronological Life of Christ. It is a wonderful book and I thank you again for the recommendation. I get a kick out of reading things that you said in the video… in this case from page 522 - 'It was the John 3:16 of Judaism.' You made me smile!"

"Mark: Just finished reading your Chronological Life of Christ. Thank you for all the hours of solitude and scholarship necessary to produce such a practical and useful resource. Brother Wilson introduced me to J. W. Shepard's Christ of the Gospels and A. C. Wieand's Harmony. Your writing builds on their foundation and adds immensely to the study, application, and communication of the Gospels. My wife and I were part of Mark & Carla Scott's trip to Israel in June (now postponed). I started reading in January specifically to prepare for that trip, and also preached 12 messages from the Gospels over the past months."

"Dr. Moore, I am grateful for the resources you have made available through your website. I especially enjoy the lectures you have posted and am currently going through the Life of Christ series. I am thoroughly enjoying your Chronological Life of Christ resource. Thanks for all your work for the kingdom and for being an encouragement to me by sharing all your knowledge through these great resources."
