Overview

Who is Eliot Branch and what is his story? In his own words, he is just an ordinary man from rural Missouri struggling to learn the language and culture of a tiny landlocked country in Southeast Asia. After hearing God’s voice to consider a greater vision, Eliot partners with both expatriate and national missionaries to launch one of the most cutting-edge mission efforts in the world today.

But fruitfulness comes with a cost. A dark enemy and corrupt authorities stand in the way. What will it take to finish the task?

In a compelling story, here you will read one man’s faith journey from the unimpressive to the miraculous. Filled with true stories of peril and persecution the author and his partners encounter along the way, here is a testament to how God uses ordinary people to accomplish his mission when they step out in faith, not trusting in their own ability, but relying upon his.

Follow Eliot, Nick, and the team of national missionaries as they attempt to stay one step ahead of the police to reach the remaining lost peoples at the ends of the earth.

Proceeds from the sale of this book will go to support the work of Mekong Multiply. Their outreach efforts to near-neighbor and national missionaries are multiplying disciples and churches among unreached people groups in Southeast Asia and beyond.

Excerpt

Enduring opposition has been the modus operandi for the church throughout the ages.  A short history of Christian preference and prominence in the US is more of an anomaly than a historical status quo.  But it has lulled some Christians into expecting an easy road.  The Bible promises that if we wish to live a godly life we will be persecuted (2 Timothy 312).  There is no way around it.  The only way to live a comfortable Christian life, safe from persecution, is never to be a threat to Satan.” (pp. 13-14)

Endorsements

"I don’t care who you are, everyone loves a great missionary story. I know of no other profession that experiences a greater encounter of clashes in culture than people who live in a distant place, adjust to a radically different worldview, and attempt to multiply followers of Jesus. Here is an entire book full of that experience. The stories are vivid, powerful, well written and impactful. They are carefully ordered and crafted in such a way that we learn something from each one almost without realizing it is happening. That’s what makes the group discussion guide at the end so crucial. The discussion questions are designed to provoke a conversation that will drive home the message of each chapter and lead us to grow in our faith and commitment to Jesus and his mission. I’m grateful to Eliot Branch for tracing out in brilliant, intriguing scenes what it means to follow the Faith Road."
-— Greg Pruett, President of Pioneer Bible Translators

"With each page I was reminded that God is still on the move and that the power of Jesus Christ can withstand and defeat any earthly stronghold, regardless of where you live and serve. If as an American Christian you aren’t diligent, you become susceptible and can fall prey to a faith of convenience, to a comfortable Christianity. Jesus often asked his disciples, “Where is your faith?” And some two thousand years later I feel that through the pages of this book, I am being asked that same question.
I assure you that because of reading this book, my faith and boldness has deepened. So will yours, if you take the time to read it."
-— Dave Stone, former Senior Pastor of Southeast Christian Church, Chairman of the Board of Spire Network

About the Author

Eliot Branch moved to Southeast Asia less than two months after the September 11th terrorist attacks in the USA. Married to a national, Mali, Eliot learned to speak the language fluently, shared the gospel, planted simple churches, established businesses, and developed resources for the multiplication of disciples and churches among the unreached. A missionary, speaker, author, entrepreneur and mission mobilizer, he now coordinates efforts to mobilize national missionaries to reach unreached peoples around the world.
